How a Trip to New York Inspired the High Line Series: A Story of Slow Fashion, Reinvention & Personal Design
Hi Dearies!
I hope you’re reading this with a cup of something warm in hand, or at least while mentally escaping that midday chaos (we’ve all been there). I wanted to take a moment to share the story behind the High Line Series, because this drop is personal.
Believe it or not, this collection wasn’t even in our annual production calendar. Yep, not planned, not forecasted, not discussed in any strategy meeting. It came out of something much simpler: I was burnt out. Post-Raya 2025 season had me feeling creatively drained and emotionally fried. So when my husband casually mentioned he had to go to New York City for work, I did what any responsible adult in dire need of a reset would do - I self-invited.
A Walk, A Delay, and A Spark
Now if you know me, you’d know that NYC is one of my favourite cities in the world. The vibe. The fashion. The food. The fast pace that somehow still lets you slow down and reflect — I love all of it. And on that trip, I got exactly what I needed.
We were actually on our way to Chelsea Market (because lobster rolls), but we didn’t realise it only opened at 11am. So we had time to kill. We wandered onto the High Line, and... oh wow. The inspiration hit hard.
That walk became the catalyst for everything.
What the High Line Taught Me
The High Line — for those who don’t know — is a former railway track turned public park. What once was abandoned and forgotten is now a stunning space filled with wildflowers, art, community, and life.
What touched me most was how they turned something “old” into something new. Something once seen as non-functional now had purpose again. It wasn’t just a park — it was a statement on sustainability, creativity, and reinvention. It reminded me that there’s beauty in the in-between. In the reimagining. In giving things (and people) a second life.
So I Reimagined the Rowling...
When I got back, I couldn’t shake the feeling. I looked at one of our best sellers — the Rowling Shirt — and thought, what if I gave her a High Line moment?
Customers have been asking me to bring it back. So here it is: The Rowling 2.0 — same beloved silhouette, now with a higher neckline, longer sleeves, and a touch more coverage. I added subtle design twists to give it personality — much like the High Line itself.
And because I personally believe you can never have too many white tees, I also created the Wildflower Tee — a minimal, unisex white t-shirt made of 100% cotton, complete with an embroidered patch of my own artwork.
This part was scary. Putting my drawing out there felt so vulnerable. I doubted myself at every step — what if no one likes it? What if it looks amateur? But I pushed through. Because I want Kissahh to feel personal — not just polished.
Confession: I Couldn’t Keep It Quiet
Here’s another little confession: I talked about this collection way before it was even close to ready. I was so excited, I just had to share it on social media. Meanwhile, behind the scenes, I was pushing my production team (bless them) to move as fast as possible — possibly to their annoyance 😅
But here’s the good news: the pieces are finally in production, and you can pre-order yours today. Estimated delivery? Mid-August. It’s worth the wait — promise.
Small Batch. Big Heart.
As much as I’d love to produce for everyone, we’re keeping this drop small and intentional. At Kissahh, we believe in slow fashion, sustainable production, and listening to real demand. If the High Line Series sells out, it’s your cue to let me know if you want more — new colours, more cuts, you name it. We’ll build this together.
Because being kind to the planet starts with being more mindful about how we create — and what we keep in our wardrobes.
